June is Miami Climate Month

The city of Miami is ground zero for the impacts of climate change, which is why we must ensure both our current and future elected leaders do everything in their power to protect out state. That’s why a collaboration ensued among local, state and national partners to elevate Miami’s story nationally and internationally before, during, and after the June 26-27 DNC presidential primary debates (the first 2020 presidential debate), which will take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami.  Please join the MCA at the following events …

  • Drilled LIVE from Miami – Democratic Debates Edition (Tuesday, June 25, 2019)
    Drilled, a “true crime” podcast documenting the Oil Industry’s early knowledge—and deceit—around climate change, comes to Miami for a Live Debate Edition that will feature presidential candidates.

  • Miami is Feeling the Heat and Paying the Price (June 24-26, 2019)
    This multi-site mural will first make its way through the Allapattah, Little Havana, Liberty City and Little Haiti neighborhoods where children will paint while learning about the growing costs of climate change in Florida and our country and the role the oil industry played — and continues to play — in causing this crisis.

  • Puerto Ricans Demand Action Bombazo (Wednesday, June 26, 2019)
    Join us on the first night of the Democratic presidential candidate debates to say loudly and clearly that we need every candidate to have a well thought-out, robust and complete Puerto Rico policy. There are more than 1.3 million Puerto Ricans in the state of Florida and over 5 million stateside, and we VOTE!

  • Underwater Climate Rally (Thursday, June 27, 2019) Come to our “Underwater Climate Rally” to demand that candidates present bold plans to address climate change during the debates, in the election, and with meaningful action that meets the steep challenge ahead.
